Buffaloes scare Lucky Mani

Lucky Mani, owned by Sukumar of Samayapuram was taken to an ear-piercing ceremony at Wayalur.

On it's way back with it's mahouts, the animal got scared on sighting a few buffaloes. The domesticated elephant fled into an irrigation canal, and got stuck.

Forest officials said they need to pay more attention, to the quality of life, of  domesticated elephants  in the district.

"We will conduct a meeting with all elephant owners, in a couple of days," said a Forest Department official.
