Elephants were starving at Annamalai Tiger Resreve due to infestation of thorny tree species.Nattu Karuvel, Odai Vel, Kudai Vela Maram and Seemai Karuvelam - all imported from Africa and America.
They were not food for elephants and wildlife, and they hurt the animals.
