Tusker electrocuted, near telugu cult centre

A wild elephant was electrocuted in the Boluvampatti Range of Coimbatore Forest Divison, on thursday.

The 25 year old tusker likely received the fatal electric shock, as it pushed down a power pole, in a farm, at Kuppepalayam village.  

A new electric line has been set up along a road outside the forest area, about 500 metres from the reserve forest.  

The carcass was taken to the Chadivayal Resrerve Forest for post mortem.

Telugu, Mallu cults and more, ravage Nilgiri biosphere

 Already complaints against private and government institutions, that fragment wild elephant habitat have been raised. 

And is-ha centre, carunya university, crpf training institute and more have fragmented wild habitat in western ghats that flank Coimbatore city. 

Now, emboldened mother amrit-anand-mayi mutt and university, have allegedly installed 2 km long electric fence in the Ettimadai area fragmenting wild elephant habitat and also corridor. A case has been filed in the Madras High court, by activists Siva and Lokanathan.
